Age and diseases may be responsible for curve penis
According to a doctor, the penis can become curve naturally as a man gets older, it can be a sign of a serious disease which has recently been linked to cancer. Some men have a more bent penis for a harmless reason-the two tubes that fill with blood to give an erection can be different sizes. The skin on the organ can affect how curved it appears, aging makes skin gets looser, the curve can look more pronounced.
But a bent penis can be a symptom of a condition known as Peyronie's disease, which is estimated to affect up to seven percent of males. Researchers recently linked this with a higher risk of various cancers-including testicular, melanoma and stomach. Signs of Peyronie's include scar tissue, a significant bend, erection problems and pain.
When the penis becomes erect, it's because two tubes called the corpora cavernosa fill up with blood,
the resultant curve may not be too noticeable when a man is flaccid but become more obvious when he is hard. As we all age, the skin all over our body produces less collagen and as a result, the skin becomes thinner and more fragile and starts to sag. So the natural curve can be more prominent as the skin hangs down looser.
Peyronie's disease occurs when a scar formation in penis prevents straight erection. It can make sex painful and cause erectile dysfunction. But in many cases men have no recollection of a specific trauma. In some, Peyronie's comes on gradually and doesn't seem to be related to an injury. Researchers therefore suspect it can be related to genes. In some men, injury and genetics could both be involved.
A recent study of different men found Peyronie's disease brought a higher risk of testicular cancer by 40 percent, melanoma by 29 percent and stomach cancer by 40 percent. A gene that may trigger the complaint could also be linked to the development of tumors.

High levels of air pollution increases the risk of heart attack
People with certain blood types are more likely to suffer a heart attack when exposed to high levels of pollution, people who have A, B, or AB blood types have an 'elevated risk', compared to those with the O blood type. Pollution is linked to a raised chance of a heart attack but it is the first time that the risk has also been linked to blood type.
The risk of a heart attack or chest pain doubled for people of type A, B, or AB blood when pollution hits high levels. In comparison, the risk rose by 40 percent for those with type O, according to researchers. The primary mutation we studied differentiates between O blood types and non-O, which includes positive and negative A, B, and AB blood types.
Dozens of genes have been shown in large international studies to predict the onset of coronary artery disease in people who are free of the disease. But the vast majority of people won't have a heart attack unless they already have coronary artery disease. Nor is a heart attack a certainty even with heart disease.
A level of pollution at which the increased risk occurred for people with non-O blood types is threshold 25 micrograms of pollution per cubic metre. At levels higher than 25 micrograms per cubic metre of pollution, the increase in risk is linear, while below that level there's little if any difference in risk. During a winter inversion, the PM2.5 pollution level can occasionally reach as high as 100 micrograms per cubic metre, but 50 to 60 is more typical.
The researchers found that people with type O blood also have higher risk of heart attack or unstable chest pain in times of high air pollution. Their level of risk is much smaller, at 10 per cent instead of the non-O blood type's 25 per cent per 10 additional micrograms per cubic metre.

Vaping not better than smoking before surgery
Despite being perceived as a healthier alternative to tobacco cigarettes, vaping liquid contains nicotine, which may significantly increase the risk for complications related to surgery and anesthesia, according to the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists AANA. The AANA is supporting this effort by urging individuals not to vape or smoke before surgery.
Most e-cigarettes contain nicotine, which can cause addiction. The nicotine found in vapes and tobacco results in poor wound healing, increases anesthesia risk, and may lead to a host of other potential complications for surgery patients. Despite being perceived as a better alternative to tobacco cigarettes, vaping liquid contains nicotine, which significantly increases the risk for complications during and after surgery.
It's common knowledge that patients should quit smoking cigarettes at least a few weeks before and after surgery, vaping is not good as well. Nicotine can lower the effectiveness of certain medications or interfere with the way the way drugs work; it can also impact healing and lead to infection and greater discomfort after surgery.

Vitamin D boosts fertility
Women undergoing fertility treatment were 33 per cent more likely to have a baby if their vitamin D levels were healthy. NHS recommends taking of vitamin D supplement for women who are pregnant or trying to conceive for the sake of the development of their baby.
The researchers believe vitamin D may help dampen the immune system’s inflammatory response, improving the chances that an embryo successfully implants in the lining of the womb at the very start of pregnancy. Sun exposure and greater sunlight luminosity increases the body’s store of vitamin D, thereby yielding higher conception rates in summer and autumn.
Oily fish such as sardines or mackerel, red meat, liver or eggs are all rich in vitamin D.The vitamin is important during pregnancy because it affect the way a baby’s bones grow in the womb.
women should beware taking very high doses of vitamin D in a bid to conceive - as it is possible to overdose.
The NHS recommended dose of 10 micrograms a day is considered to be safe. Women should beware that taking more than this without medical advice can lead to too much calcium building up in the body, which can weaken bones and damage the heart and kidneys.

Dangers of taking energy drink
Short-term benefits of energy drink can be outweighed by serious health risks which include risk-seeking behavior, mental health problems, increased blood pressure, obesity and kidney damage. The health risks suggests they are harmful to health and should be limited through more stringent regulation by restricting their sales to children and adolescents.
Most energy drinks consist of similar ingredients-water, sugar, caffeine, certain vitamins, minerals and non-nutritive stimulants such as guarana, taurine and ginseng. Some can contain up to 100 mg caffeine per fluid ounce, eight times more than a regular coffee at 12 mg. A moderate daily caffeine intake of up to 400 mg is recommended for adults, but little research exists on tolerable levels for adolescents and children. Energy drinks are often marketed as a healthy beverage that people can adopt to improve their energy, stamina, athletic performance and concentration, but researchers discovered that they have health consequences.
The health risks associated with energy drinks are mostly attributed to their high sugar and caffeine levels. They range from risk-seeking behavior, such as substance misuse and aggression, mental health problems in the form of anxiety and stress, to increased blood pressure, obesity, kidney damage, fatigue, stomachaches and irritation.
Mixing energy drinks with alcohol leads to consumption of more alcohol than drinking alcohol alone, leading to dehydration and alcohol poisoning.

Mepsevii for treating inherited metabolic condition
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has approved Mepsevii (vestronidase alfa-vjbk) to treat pediatric and adult patients with an inherited metabolic condition called mucopolysaccharidosis type VII (MPS VII), also known as Sly syndrome. MPS VII is an extremely rare, progressive condition that affects most tissues and organs.
MPS VII is an inherited, rare genetic condition and impacts less than 150 patients worldwide. The features of MPS VII vary widely from patient to patient, but most patients have various skeletal abnormalities that become more pronounced with age, including short stature. Affected individuals can also develop heart valve abnormalities, enlarged liver and spleen, and narrowed airways which can lead to lung infections and trouble breathing.
The life expectancy of individuals with MPS VII depends on the severity of symptoms. Some affected individuals do not survive infancy, while others may live into adolescence or adulthood. Heart disease and airway obstruction are major causes of death in people with MPS VII. Affected individuals may have developmental delay and progressive intellectual disability.
The safety and efficacy of Mepsevii were established in clinical trial and expanded access protocols enrolling a total of 23 patients ranging from 5 months to 25 years of age. Patients received treatment with Mepsevii at doses up to 4 mg/kg once every two weeks for up to 164 weeks. Efficacy was primarily assessed via the six-minute walk test in ten patients who could perform the test. After 24 weeks of treatment, the mean difference in distance walked relative to placebo was 18 meters.
Additional follow-up for up to 120 weeks suggested continued improvement in three patients and stabilization in the others. Two patients in the Mepsevii development program experienced marked improvement in pulmonary function. Overall, the results observed would not have been anticipated in the absence of treatment. The most common side effects after treatment with Mepsevii include infusion site reactions, diarrhea, rash and anaphylaxis.

How to boost your energy
There are some simple habits we can build into our daily lives which can have a positive impact on our energy levels and overall health, the power of routine-especially when it comes to eating healthily, through meal planning and getting regular exercise can boost energy.
Many people will suffer with insomnia at some point, but making small tweaks to night-time routine could be all it takes to sort out sleep pattern. Human have a master 'body clock' in our brains - also known as the circadian rhythm - that helps us maintain a 24-hour sleep-wake cycle. Disturbing this sleep-wake cycle can expand waist lines and make human prone to illnesses such as diabetes and heart disease.
One of the hormones that can affect human body clock is melatonin. Blue light, emitted from digital devices, lowers melatonin levels and disrupts sleep, people who wore short wavelength-blocking glasses for three hours before bedtime for two weeks had increase night-time melatonin levels. Limiting screen time, applying screen filters or wearing glasses that block blue light improve night sleep. Watching screens from phones and tablets late in the evening boosts alertness and plays havoc with human internal body clock.
Slow-release carbohydrates are a healthier option for breakfast as they keep your blood sugar levels more stable between meals and help you feel more satiated. Getting a good quota of protein will also fill you up for longer. Choose more nourishing breakfasts like porridge with fruit, a vegetable omelette, or wholemeal toast with peanut butter. Water increases energy levels as dehydration leads to fatigue, drink enough water.
One of the easiest ways to have a major impact on your health and fitness is to move more. This can include walking or cycling to work instead of getting the bus and taking the stairs, not the lift.
Human body is not designed to be sitting for hours. Tracking your habits to discover how you are managing your health. There are many apps for doing so on smart phones that allow you to tick off the goals you achieve each day, remind you to stay on top of them and to check your progress.
