Foods that kill bowel cancer

Eating more of plants based diet can increase rate of surviving bowel cancer after chemotherapy or prevent the cancer. Saturated fat and heterocyclic amines in red meat can cause bowel cancer, replace red meat with fish and white meat like chicken.

Add plant-based antioxidants to your food, eat red or green apples, yellow or orange bell peppers, broccoli, brussels sprouts, green leafy vegetables, avocados, blueberries, carrots, tomatoes, raspberries and strawberries.
They are rich in fiber.

Eat foods rich in selenium like brown rice, oats, whole grains, sunflower seeds, onions, salmon, halibut and tuna. Selenium has anti carcinogenic properties.
Cook with extra-virgin olive oil. It is a good source of omega-3 fatty acids, vitamin E, and antioxidant phenolic compounds. The phenolic compounds, has anti tumor properties.

Add garlic to your food, the sulfur compound in garlic reduces colon cancer cell growth from induced apoptotic cell death.

Eat lower-glycemic-index foods.
Foods like green peas, cherries, plums, carrots, celery, asparagus, cabbage and broccoli. Low glycerin index foods decrease risk of bowel cancer.

Mediterranean diet can reduce risk of bowel cancer

Regular consumption of Mediterranean diet and reducing intake of processed food can reduce risk of developing bowel cancer.

Bowel cancer develops from intestinal polyps, it is associated with low-fibre diet and excess intake of over processed foods like red meat, alcohol and high-calorie foods.

Mediterranean diet is a modern nutritional method that is described as eating more of plants based diet than animal.

Typical example is consumption of olive oil, legumes, unrefined cereals, fruits, vegetables, moderate consumption of fish and dairy products.

Olive oil is safe for frying food

Olive oil is the best for frying when compared with other vegetable oils available, it has very low content of aldehyde when tested with heat.

Other vegetable oils produced more aldehydes quickly, heating monounsaturated olive oil produced fewer aldehydes at a very high temperature.

Polyunsaturated oils have more regions ripe for chemical reaction, olive oil is the safest option if you choose to fry your food because of its chemical reaction and composition.

Keep olive oil below its smoke point while frying your food to enjoy all the good chemical it contains and this will reduce any dangerous chemical associated with frying food.

Vegetable oils and their health benefits

Extra virgin olive oil
It protects memory, prevents dementia, reduces inflammation in the body and could help with conditions such as psoriasis, arthritis and eczema.

Coconut oil
Caprylic and lauric fatty acids in coconut oil reduce inflammation. It is used for treating viral and bacterial infections and skin conditions like eczema and psoriasis.

Flaxseed oil
For treating acne, eczema, psoriasis, sunburn and rosacea.
The hormone-balancing lignans and plant estrogens in flaxseed stabilise a woman's estrogen-progesterone ratio, they can have beneficial effects on the menstrual cycle, and relieve the hot flashes of perimenopause and menopause.

Sunflower oil
It is rich in oleic-acid. It contains Vitamin E, which prevents dangerous free radicals from oxidizing the body’s cholesterol. It protects against hazardous effects of UV radiation, offers photoprotection and effectively works on wrinkles, blemishes & patchy skin.

Walnut oil
Walnut oil contains high levels of monounsaturated oils such as omega 9 which help to keep arteries supple. The flexibility of the arteries promotes the flow of blood free of any hardening leading to hypertension and heart disease. It reduces inflammation and prevent diseases like arthritis. Walnuts are rich in phytonutrients and are an excellent source of selenium, phosphorous, magnesium, zinc, iron, and calcium that stabilize body hormones.

Peanut oil
Peanut oil massage is helpful for relieving arthritic pain in joints. It helps in arthritis because it is anti-inflammatory and analgesic.
Peanut oil boosts blood circulation, massage with peanut oil improves the level of prostaglandins in blood. Peanut oil is also a good cooking oil.

Avocado oil
Avocado oil consists of oleic acid, a monounsaturated omega-9 fatty acid. This type of fat has been proven to help lower high blood pressure and lower low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol. It reduces arthritis symptoms, boosts nutrients absorption and fights breast and prostate cancer.
Vitamin E and the carotenoid lutein in avocado oil reduces risk of cataracts and macular degeneration.

Rapeseed oil
Is a good source of vitamin E, high in monounsaturated fats, it has plant sterols, which are very good at lowering cholesterol.

Extra-virgin olive oil prevents cognitive decline and Alzheimer's disease

Extra-virgin olive oil protects memory and learning ability and reduces the formation of amyloid-beta plaques and neurofibrillary tangles in the brain.

The oil reduces brain inflammation and activates autophagy. Autophagy is the process of cells breakdown and removing of intracellular toxins like amyloid plaques and tau tangles.

Brain cells from mice fed with diets enriched in extra-virgin olive oil had higher levels of autophagy and reduced levels of amyloid plaques and phosphorylated tau. Phosphorylated tau causes neurofibrillary tangles that leads to nerve cell dysfunction in the brain that causes Alzheimer disease.

Transgenic mouse model was used by researchers to investigate the links between extra-virgin olive oil and dementia, Alzheimer's disease.

The researchers divided the animals into two groups, one that received a diet enriched with extra-virgin olive oil and one that received the regular diet without the oil.

The olive oil was introduced into the diet when the mice were six months old, before symptoms of Alzheimer's disease begin to emerge in the animal model.

There was no difference between the two groups of animals. However, at age 9 months and 12 months, mice on the extra virgin olive oil diet performed significantly better on tests designed to evaluate working memory, spatial memory, and learning abilities.

Studies of brain tissue from both groups of mice showed dramatic differences in nerve cell appearance and function.
The integrity of the connections between neurons, known as synapses, were preserved in animals on the extra-virgin olive oil diet.

Brain cells from animals in the olive oil group showed a dramatic increase in nerve cell autophagy activation, which was solely responsible for the reduction in levels of amyloid plaques and phosphorylated tau.

How olive oil prevents brain cancer

Oleic acid in olive oil may help to prevent cancer developing in the brain.

Researchers from the University of Edinburgh, analysed the impact of oleic acid on a cell molecule, known as miR-7, that is known to suppress brain tumour formation.

The result revealed that oleic acid prevents a specific protein from inhibiting miR-7's production.

Oleic acid therefore indirectly boosts miR-7 levels, which helps to prevent brain tumours from forming.

Polyunsaturated fats preserve memory

Fats found in fish, nuts and olive oil can preserve memory and problem-solving abilities as you age.

Omega-3 and 6 fatty acids found in these food groups protect the areas of the brain that are most affected by ageing.

The fatty acids preserve the frontoparietal cortex - a brain network responsible for problem solving, aid maintenance of the fornix, which is a small brain region that has previously been linked to memory and Alzheimer's disease.

Polyunsaturated fats are found in salmon, nuts, seeds and olive oil. These fats enhance fluid intelligence that make you to solve problems you have not encountered before.
