Effects of soda on fertility

Consumption of beverages has been linked to weight gain, type 2 diabetes, early menstruation, poor semen quality and infertility. A new study led by Boston University School of Public Health (BUSPH) researchers has found that the intake of one or more sugar-sweetened beverages per day is associated with a decreased chance of getting pregnant.

There are links between intake of sugar-sweetened beverages and low fertility, which were consistent after controlling for many other factors, including obesity, caffeine intake, alcohol, smoking, and overall diet quality. Couples planning a pregnancy might consider limiting their consumption of these beverages, especially because they are also related to other adverse health effects.

Risk factors for infertility including diet, could help couples conceive more quickly and reduce the psychological stress The researchers surveyed 3,828 women aged 21 to 45 living in the United States or Canada and 1,045 of their male partners.

Participants completed a comprehensive baseline survey on medical history, lifestyle factors, and diet, including their intake of sugar-sweetened beverages. Female participants then completed a follow-up questionnaire every two months for up to 12 months or until pregnancy occurred.

Both female and male intake of sugar-sweetened beverages was associated with 20 percent reduced fecundability, the average monthly probability of conception. Females who consumed at least one soda per day had 25 percent lower fecundability; male consumption was associated with 33 percent lower fecundability. Intake of energy drinks was related to larger reductions in fertility, although the results were based on small numbers of consumers.

Are you tired of being tired? Eat these

Are you tired all the time? if yes your level of iron may be low, you can eat the following foods to regain your strength. Egg yolk is a great source of iron. It is needed for production of haemoglobin, the protein in the red blood cells that transports oxygen around the body to produce energy in the muscles, tissues and cells.

A deficiency in iron can lead to a type of anaemia that will leave you feeling drained and weak. This tends to be more common in women, especially if they experience heavy blood loss during menstruation. Eat more of venison than beef, as it contains twice as much iron. Eating Vitamin C-rich foods with plant sources of iron, such as red peppers with tofu or green salad with lentil bake can enhance absorption.

Brown rice is a good source of fibre-rich complex carbohydrate, eat it regularly with five different fruits and vegetables. Leafy greens such as spinach are packed with magnesium, which makes this a glass of pure energy. If you're low in this mineral, as many people are, you'll feel absolutely drained. Magnesium activates the enzymes that starts energy-production process in the body.

Sardines, salmon, tuna, meat and egg are excellent sources of Vitamin B12. All B vitamins play a crucial part in the supporting our energy levels. B12 works in partnership with folate (Vitamin B9) to form red blood cells and to enhance the absorption of iron in the body. Avoid refined sugar, alcohol, and processed foods. Stay hydrated- water transport nutrients and oxygen around the body in order to support energy production. Dehydration can reduce your energy  and cause fatigue.

How to prepare your body for IVF

For a woman to get pregnant, her reproductive organs like ovaries, uterus and fallopian tubes need to be in good condition and function properly. Conditions that affect these organs may render a woman infertile. Looking at
polycystic ovary syndrome - a condition which causes irregular or no menstruation.

Another problem is functional hypothalamic amenorrhea - a condition caused by low body weight or excessive exercise. Premature ovarian insufficiency - a condition which causes a woman's ovaries to cease to function before age 40.

Infertility in men can be determined through a semen analysis, which studies a man's sperm count, the motility and shape of sperm. If a man's testicular or ejaculatory functions are disrupted, this may cause infertility. These disruptions can be caused by
varicoceles - a condition which causes the veins on a man's testicles to overheat.

During IVF treatments, woman’s eggs are extracted and fertilized outside of her body. The resulting embryos are then implanted in her uterus. One IVF cycle lasts about two weeks, receiving IVF treatments increases a woman's chances of conceiving, it does not always result in pregnancy.

Having more than one round of IVF can increase the chance of becoming pregnant, women can prepare their body for pregnancy by getting acupuncture two to three times a week before IVF treatments.

Acupuncture leads to better blood flow, which will result in higher quality eggs. Engaging in exercise can also ease women's stress levels, which will help the process to work better. Avoid any stressful activities and reduce work load, eat balanced diet regularly especially fruits and vegetables, avoid fish. Take folic acid and vitamin D in moderation.

Menstruation does not affect working memory

Some women assumed their menstrual cycle controls their performance the way some experience stomach cramp and pain during menstruation.

The hormonal changes related to the menstrual cycle do not have any effect on cognitive performance. It does not influence cognitive performance.

Researchers examined different women at different stages for two menstrual cycles and discovered that progesterone and estrogen hormones released during menstruation have no effect on working memory.

Researchers looked for differences in performance between individuals and changes in performance over time and discovered nothing related to menstrual cycle.  Menstrual cycle may cause pain and stomach cramp in some women, but it does not affect working memory.

Age-related female infertility

Female infertility is inability to contribute to conception or unable to carry a pregnancy to full time.

Researchers at the University of Montreal Hospital Research Center have new explanation for female infertility.

They discovered that microtubules that coordinate chromosome segregation during cell division behave abnormally in older eggs.

Women are born with a fixed number of eggs, which remain inactive in the ovaries, one egg is released every month during menstruation.

One of the causes of infertility in female is defect in egg that causes abnormal number of chromosomes, the egg can cause miscarriage and down syndromes, fertility decline start at 35 years.
