Body Mass Index alone cannot dictate your health status
Body Mass Index BMI is a measure of body size based on a person's weight and height, it is calculated by dividing your weight in kilograms by your height in meters, then divide the answer by your height again.
Researchers at the University of Alberta state that BMI is not an indicator of how healthy you are and the metrics of judging obesity need to be changed.
According to Dr Sharma, someone with a BMI of 30 and above is said to be obese by the metrics but they may be perfectly healthy when you check their body metabolism.
People with BMI less than 30 may have problems that would improve if they lose weight.
BMI shows how big you are not how sick, it is not good to judge health status based on BMI alone.
