How to prevent colorectal cancer
The colon and rectum are parts of the digestive system, they make up the large intestine, most of the large intestine is made up of the colon.
Colorectal cancer is a cancer that starts in the colon or the rectum.
Physical activity protects against colon cancer. Colorectal cancer is one of the most common cancers, it is possible to prevent the cancer by eating healthy diet. Diet and lifestyle have a major role in colorectal cancer prevention
Foods containing fiber decreases the risk of this cancer. People who are more physically active have a lower risk of colon cancer compared to those who do very little physical activity.
Maintaining healthy weight, avoiding smoking and drinking of alcohol, proper exercise, limiting red and processed meat and eating more whole grains and fiber would lower the risk.
Eating whole grains daily, such as brown rice or whole-wheat bread, eating foods rich in vitamin C like oranges, strawberries and spinach can reduce colorectal cancer risk. Hot dogs, bacon and other processed meats consumed regularly increase the risk of the cancer.

Throats can serve as reservoirs for gonorrhoea
Drug-resistant gonorrhoea can spread from an infected person's throat during oral sex. Oral gonorrhoea has increased due to oral sex and irregular use of condom.
Gonorrhoea is a sexually transmitted infection STI that can infect the genitals, throat, eyes and rectum. It spreads through unprotected sex.
The infection can also pass from an infected mother to a child during child birth. But it cannot be spread by kissing an infected person.
Common symptoms of gonorrhoea are: greenish yellowish discharge from penis or vaginal, a burning sensation when urinating, a rash on the penis and increased discharge from vaginal.
Untreated oral gonorrhoea can spread to the genitals, causing pelvic inflammatory disease, testicular pain, ectopic pregnancies and infertility.
Oral gonorrhoea is responsible for STI's antibiotic resistance, the bacteria in the throat are exposed to antibiotics when using the drugs for treating the infection. These throat bacteria reduce the effectiveness of the drug.

Causes and prevention of colon cancer
Colon cancer occurs in the large intestine or in the rectum, it develops slowly. An abnormal growth known as a polyp develops on the inner lining of the large intestine or rectum before the cancer growth.
Familial adenomatous polyposis, a devastating inherited disease that causes pre-cancerous polyps to grow in the intestine at a young age, often leading to the removal of portions of the colon to prevent cancer.
CtBP drives the actions of what are known ascancer stem cells, which are keys to cancer metastasis and resistance to chemotherapy. CtBP is not mutated in colon cancer; instead, it is overexpressed to the point where the cancer depends on it for growth.
CtBP works to reprogram cells by repressing the expression of genes that typically prevent cancer through a form of cell suicide known as apoptosis while simultaneously promoting the expression of other genes that lead to cancer growth and metastasis.
The researchers found that CtBP can cause normal human cells to become cancerous when inserted into the cell's DNA. In mouse models of familial adenomatous, treatment with HIPP significantly reduced intestinal polyps and increased survival while mice bred without the CtBP gene lived twice as long as those with it.
HIPP acted as a chemical to prevent polyp formation, thereby reducing the risk of colon cancer. Anti-CtBP therapies such as HIPP may be able to complement current therapies to counter drug resistance and decrease metastasis to control and cure colon cancer.

How to prevents urinary tract infection UTI
When bacteria from rectum and vagina get into the urethra or when the bladder has more of bad bacteria than good ones, urinary tract infection UTI may occur.
Common symptoms of urinary tract infection UTI are pain while urinating, lower abdominal pain, frequent urination at night, lower-back aches, nausea, fatigue, dizziness and headaches.
Poor diet, stress, and abuse of antibiotics can suppress or kill the good bacteria that protect the body from infection.
Risk of UTI can be reduced by wiping from front to back after defecating or when you are cleaning the vagina.
Avoid bathtub; bacteria that come out of your body may enter your vagina and avoid swimming in a dirty water.
maintaining good hygiene; wearing of clean underwear, avoiding bacteria buildup; sweating can cause bacteria buildup, take your bath twice in a day.
Avoid spermicides; it may introduce bacteria into the vagina and change the pH of the vagina, avoid douching and urinate regularly.
Oregano essential oil, D-Mannose and cranberry are effective in controlling bacteria that causes urinary tract infections.

Symptoms of cancer of the womb
The risk of developing womb cancer increases with age and majority of cases occur in women aged 40 to 74 years.
The womb is a hollow muscular organ between the rectum and the bladder.
Womb cancers start in endometrium.
Common symptom of womb cancer is vaginal bleeding - bleeding after the menopause, bleeding in between periods, heavier periods than usual, or a watery or blood vaginal discharge.
Factors that contribute to the risk of developing womb cancer are: age, high oestrogen hormone and women who have not had children.
Women who are overweight are three times more likely to develop womb cancer compared with women who are considered to be a normal weight.
Diabetes can increase risk of having womb cancer and women who have polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) are also at greater risk.

Soy can ease painful inflammatory bowel disease symptoms
Eating soy regularly could ease painful inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) symptoms.
Researchers have discovered addition of staple beans to a sufferer's repertoire may improve symptoms of weight loss and an enlarged spleen.
The most common forms of IBD are Ulcerative Colitis (UC) and Crohn's Disease (CD). UC affects the colon and
rectum.
Researchers from Pennsylvania State University induced mice with a condition similar to Ulcerative Colitis UC. They added a soy-protein
concentrate into their diet and removed other protein sources.
Amy Wopperer, the study author, said: 'Soy-protein concentrate calm markers of colonic inflammation and loss of gut barrier function in the mice with induced IBD.'
The mice were given a soy-protein concentrate of 12 per cent, which was based on the amount humans generally consume. The concentrate also protect human bowel cells.

Prevention of colon cancer
Colon is the lowest part of the digestive system, colon cancer is the growth of cancer from the colon or rectum. Common symptoms of colon cancer are: fatigue, weight loss, blood in the stool and change in bowel movement.
Colonoscopy is one of the best way to treat colon cancer if it is discovered early. This type of cancer can develop without symptoms it is good to go for regular screening for early detection.
This cancer is common in people with sedentary lifestyle and tobacco smokers. Eating food low in fibre, high in fat, calories and preservatives may increase the risk of colon cancer.
It can be prevented by:
• regular screening
• regular exercise
• maintaining healthy weight
• eating balanced diet
• drinking enough water
• avoiding alcohol and tobacco products
