Ascorbic acid for treating vitamin C deficiency
Ascorbic acid - vitamin C occurs naturally in foods such as citrus fruit, tomatoes, potatoes, and leafy vegetables. Vitamin C is important for bones and connective tissues, muscles, and blood vessels.
Vitamin C also helps the body absorb iron, which is needed for red blood cell production. Ascorbic acid is used to treat and prevent vitamin C deficiency.
Smoking can make ascorbic acid less effective.
Dose needs may be different during pregnancy or while you are breast-feeding a baby. Do not use ascorbic acid without your doctor's advice in either case.
Drink plenty of liquids while you are taking ascorbic acid. The chewable tablet must be chewed before you swallow it. Ascorbic acid gum may be chewed as long as desired and then thrown away.
Do not crush, chew, or break an extended-release tablet. Swallow it whole. Measure liquid medicine with a special dose-measuring spoon or medicine cup. If you do not have a dose-measuring device, ask your pharmacist for one.
Keep the orally disintegrating tablet in the package until you are ready to take it. Use dry hands to remove the tablet and place it in your mouth. Do not swallow the tablet whole. Allow it to dissolve in your mouth without chewing. Swallow several times as the tablet dissolves.
Store ascorbic acid at room temperature away from moisture and heat. Do not stop using ascorbic acid suddenly after long-term use at high doses, or you could have "conditional" vitamin C deficiency.
Symptoms include bleeding gums, feeling very tired, and red or blue pinpoint spots around your hair follicles. Follow your doctor's instructions about tapering your dose. Conditional vitamin C deficiency can be difficult to correct without medical supervision.
Stop using ascorbic acid and call your doctor at once if you have: joint pain, weakness or tired feeling, weight loss, stomach pain; chills, fever, increased urge to urinate, painful or difficult urination; or severe pain in your side or lower back, blood in your urine.
Common side effects may include:
heartburn, nausea, diarrhea and stomach cramps.

Vitamin C can stop the spread of blood cancer
Faulty stem cells in bone marrow often multiply, increasing the growth of fatal tumours. The diseases can lead to anaemia and bleeding as abnormal stem cells multiply in the bone marrow and interfere with blood cell production.
Vitamin C can kill and prevents the spread of the tumours. Vitamin C found in high levels in kale, oranges and peppers could prevents blood cancer but it is impossible to get the required amount through fruits and vegetables in high quantities.
High quantities of vitamin C required for killing the tumours can be given by injecting cancer patients intravenously, the patients can get up to 500 times the amount they would get through eating fruit and vegetables.
Vitamin C prevents the breakdown of glucose, the mitochondria - the strength of the cancer cells are unable to gain vital energy it needs to grow with vitamin C injection.
Researchers discovered that vitamin C suppressed the growth of leukaemia cancer stem cells from human patients implanted into the mice. Combining vitamin C with a cancer drug is more effective in cancer treatment.

Treat sepsis with vitamins C
Sepsis is a progressive disease process caused by an aggressive and dysfunctional immune response to an infection in the bloodstream. Illnesses like bronchitis, pneumonia and kidney infection can turn septic.
Sepsis starts with symptoms of an infection, the condition can progress to septic shock, which may be lethal.
Lack of vital vitamins in the body can increase the risk of Sepsis.
Chronic diseases like AIDS, cancer, diabetes, lung, kidney and liver raises the risk of Sepsis. Being exposed to
infection-causing bacteria in health centers can also increase the risk of Sepsis.
The condition can leads to extremely low blood pressure that is unresponsive to fluid replacement, weakening of the heart and multiple-organ failure if treatment is delayed.
Steroid hydrocortisone, intravenous (IV) vitamin C, thiamine (vitamin B-1) can be used to treat Sepsis. Vitamin C
prevents and treat infectious diseases.
Thiamine is required for metabolism of some of the metabolites of vitamin C. It
reduces the risk of renal failure and mortality.

Vitamin C can kill cancer stem cells
Abnormal cells division in an uncontrollable way is cancer, it can occur in any parts of the body.
Cancer can be treated by surgery, Chemotherapy, radiation therapies, hormonal therapy and synthetic lethality.
Some of these treatments are not effective and are associated with variety of side effects. In some cases, the cancer does not respond to treatment, it is believed that cancer steam-like cells are the reason for reoccurrence and metastasizes.
Vitamin C disrupt the growth of cancer stem cells; in a recent study by Dr Gloria Bonuccelli, Vitamin C proves effective in killing cancer steam-like cells. It is more effective than experimental drugs.
Vitamin C has been proved to be a potent anticancerous agent, it neutralizes cancer steam cells.
Sources of vitamin C are:
Acerola Cherry, Strawberries, Citrus fruits, Papaya, Kiwi, Bell Peppers, Guava, Brussels sprouts, Melon, Dark leafy greens, Tomatoes and Vitamin C tablet.
