Dentures linked to weak muscles and joints
Wearing dentures has been linked to a higher risk of musculoskeletal frailty, because denture wearers avoid eating certain foods and so are missing out on vital nutrients. Dentures improves masticatory function, their bite force is much weaker than that of natural teeth. People with more than 20 teeth were significantly less likely to be frail and were also found to have consumed the greatest amount of nutrients over the study period.
The participants with fewer than 20 teeth and who did not use dentures - as well as those who did use dentures - were found to have consumed the least amount of nutrients, when compared with the Recommended Dietary Intakes recommended by the researchers said their findings highlight the important need for older people to be able to maintain the ability to not just chew, but to chew effectively, in order to take on board the essential nutrients necessary to maintain muscle mass and stave off musculoskeletal frailty.
The use of denture could be a neglected intervention that could potentially have a preventative impact on musculoskeletal frailty. The research team made its findings after analysing the health of older people. Participants were categorised into three groups: those with at least 20 teeth, denture wearers with fewer than 20 teeth, and non-denture wearers with fewer than 20 teeth.

Breastfed children are at the risk of teeth decayed
According to the latest research, breastfeeding children for more than one year increases the risk of missing teeth and teeth decayed.
Eating and drinking increase bacteria in the mouth, toddler don't brush their teeth after taking breast milk and this exposed them to bacteria that causes teeth decayed.
Researchers examined children that are breastfed for more than recommended periods by American Academy of Pediatrics and discovered that breastfeeding is responsible for their missing and decayed teeth.
Breastfeeding for 13 to 23 months has no effect on cavity risk. Regular exposure to breast milk day and night increases the risk of teeth decayed.
Mothers can still breastfed for more than 23 months, but they have to reduce the risk of teeth decay by not breastfeeding for more than five times in a day and not at night. And by brushing the teeth of their children from 24 months two times in a day.

Grape seed can reduce tooth loss
A natural compound found in grapes has been found to strengthen teeth and prevent tooth decay. Grape seed extract,
a byproduct of the wine making industry has been linked to reduction in tooth extractions.
The extract has been found to toughen dentin, the tissue that makes up the bulk of the tooth which lies beneath the hard external enamel.
Tooth decay occur when acid is produced from plaque, which builds up on teeth. When we consume food high in sugar the bacteria in plaque turn the sugar into energy they need to produce acid.
If the plaque is allowed to build up, the acid can begin to break down the surface of tooth, causing cavities. The cavity begins to eat away at the second level of tooth material that lies beneath the enamel: the dentin.
Damage collagen can repair itself with a combination of plant-based oligomeric proanthocyanidins – flavonoids found in most foods and vegetables and extracts from grape seeds.
